As part of the “Into the landscape” project, an international workshop led by the collaborating parties, took place in Seljord in September 2009.
Students from NABA, Politecnico di Milano and Fredrikstad School of Scenography, designed and built three structures around the lake. The structures were built to 1) be used as stopping places for travellers and tourists; 2) to serve as meeting points for the local inhabitants; and 3) to tell the story of the mythical creature in the Seljord Lake. In addition to these three structures, a larger viewing-tower will complete the “Into the Landscape” project. The 15 metre high tower will be situated in beautiful surroundings by the lakeside close to the centre of Seljord. Designed by Rintala Eggertsson Architects, the tower will have openings and platforms on each level, allowing visitors to take in the magnificent view of the lake and the surrounding landscape.
